Shane and I were there on Monday. Others on my FL were also. It's a major place in town. Lots of shopping. Tons of people.

There is no reason.

There is only sorrow.

A beautiful light is no longer shining on this plane.

I hope she didn't feel it. I hope the last thought she had was a love of her family and the joy of the previous day.

And I hope they find the ones who in their senseless little pea brains thought that firing a gun into a crowd would be cool. The sad thing is in crimes like this, chances are they are close to her age.
Which means other lives lost.

Yesterday as I started my day I watched undercover police arrest a man at the top of the TTC. I didn't see at first they were police and I hurried to look for a police car. Yeah, crime affects us. Even if we weren't there, we know. I still look up at the sky when I hear a loud plane. It's my newer second nature.

So maybe tonight you'll hug your family tighter. Tell your friends you love them. Pray for peace.

Christmas is over and it's almost a New Year........

and wow what a year it has been
reclaiming my life
moving Shane and I away from a personal disaster that was my marriage
looking forward instead of staying in the rut that was my life
gaining friends that I will have until the day i die (hopefully)
learning that "old time neighbourhoods" do exist and that they are beyond the good
seeing old friends leave my life (not so good, but sometimes that cleaning needs to happen)
re-examining my belief system
getting the glimpse of daily miracles
knowing what I need and ramming forward to get those needs with no guilt
learning the healing power of touch ( and loving the massages along the way, thank ya Ria for them hands of yours, so needed it last night, over and over..had like 3 massages and whoa my back is feeling GREAT)
watching my little boy start to grow up and be surprised as he does by his inner maturity even if he does still stay in that little boy psyche
learning to love having less but it being our own
learning to temper words when idiots abound
learning that years of abuse are not conquered in a day and that's alright, fears are there for a reason, and self-doubt takes time to erase
learning that I can do anything I set my mind to
and learning that love will beat the pure shit outta hate
knowing that with every 2 steps forward that there may be a step back, but to use that to reflect, not turn tail and run back to the main problem and push back on the paddle again forward
knowing I don't have to be perfect, or even close at times and still folks will care for me
and this year's main goal, learn not to assume if the words haven't appeared

resolutions: find a way to stay where our new home is, because well we're home and we don't want to leave forever
help Shane with his anger so that he's happier more of the time than sad
help Tim realize his goals and guide from a distance to help him achieve (and he's doing really good on his own, so I can be proud of that)
